Volunteer Positions:

Board Members: The Board meets once a month.  Members must be willing to devote a few hours each month to attending meetings and carrying out board business.  You will further the work of the council and assist as needed with promotion, fundraising, event planning, recruitment, and other activities.

Tutors: This is a commitment of at least one year.  No experience necessary. You will submit a criminal record check, take a free online distance learning course and a one-day workshop, prepare lessons and meet with your learner at least once or twice per week.

Communication Coordinator

We are currently looking to fill a position either as a volunteer or a potential board member. The role would typically cover 2-3 hours a week and special projects. We would also provide references and the person can use any marketing materials they create for their portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • prepare content for all social media platforms
  • assist in promoting fundraising events
  • update the ALF website
  • prepare monthly reports to the Board
  • help prepare marketing material and annual report
  • promote the organization though marketing initiatives, videos and printed material
